Barenaked Ladies

About This Release

This is how good a live album Rock Spectacle is: even though “Brian Wilson” had been released as a studio track back in 1992, it took the rollicking performance on this 1996 release to make the song a hit. But, in retrospect, it’s not that surprising; Barenaked Ladies were and are great on stage (you can hear the connection they have with their audience throughout this recording), so the success of Rock Spectacle totally makes sense. Indeed, this album really represented their breakthrough in the US, and teed up their ascent to superstardom with its Stunt follow-up. For its vinyl debut on its 30th anniversary, we’ve remastered the album for vinyl and pressed 3500 copies on orange vinyl for worldwide distribution, complete with printed inner sleeve. One of the great live acts of their generation, caught at their best!
